The Farm - Bend, Oregon
Tumalo Creek Dam
The Farm neighborhood in NW Bend, Oregon may be small, with only 9 lots, but living is large in this community. The lot sizes in this subdivision are larger in acreage at 5 to 17 acres. Within a short distance there is also access to nearby trails, bike paths, creeks rivers and a 1,000-acre park. Nestled in the trees, rock outcroppings, patches of native plants and wildlife; the Farm is a hidden natural escape only minutes from the heart of Bend, Oregon.

You have two routes leading into The Farm depending on the area of Bend you are coming from. Starting in north Bend will send you through Tumalo State Park, down Johnson Road a ways to eventually take a left onto Stag Drive. Be sure to keep to the right after turning onto Stag Drive. The upper, private road, Lookout Drive, takes you along the upper view of the neighborhood (all properties to the right). The second route starts near NW Crossing and heads up NW Shevlin Park Rd, past Shevlin Park and Aspen Hall, and then hang a right onto Stag Drive.
Originally this was a 11-lot subdivision divided back in the 1979, however, two parcels were dedicated back to the City of Bend. One 15-acre parcel includes access to a Bend Parks and Rec bike and trail system, and the other 25 acres was for the canal/stream from what I could find. What is even cooler, it is located along Tumalo Creek, and an old historic irrigation canal (dating back to 1883). Tumalo Irrigation District manages an easement along the canal alongside Bend Parks and Rec for public access. The trail to the creek (Tumalo Creek Trail) is beautiful and smells amazing of Juniper. There are some great spots with safe water access for individuals, families and even pets (Please note there is no swimming or wading near the Dam). Enjoy benches, picnic tables, and other resources.
Ok, back on The Farm… located just far enough out of the main hub you will have septic systems for wastewater and private or shared wells for drinking and washing water. Public utilities include electricity, phone, and cable. This neighborhood is a must see to experience the beauty and proximity to the main hub of Bend, Oregon. My favorite area of The Farm is along the ridge which backs up to Shevlin Park. The views of some of the residence look unreal while you're looking down the creek, perched above the trees. Some properties may perhaps have mountain views and there's no shortage of bird watching!
The Farm has no HOA and no CC&r’s regulating the lands besides that of Deschutes County. Bring your RV, boats, trailers, and ample room for that oversized garage you always wanted.
